Tarangire National Park is one of Tanzania’s hidden gems, known for its vast landscapes, diverse wildlife, and iconic baobab trees. Located in northern Tanzania, this park is home to one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Africa, making it a must-visit destination for safari lovers.
The Tarangire River, the park’s lifeline, attracts large herds of wildlife, including zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and predators like lions and leopards. Bird enthusiasts will also find over 500 species of birds, making it a paradise for birdwatching.
Unlike some of the busier parks, Tarangire offers a more secluded and intimate safari experience. Whether you’re exploring the park on a game drive or enjoying a walking safari, Tarangire promises breathtaking scenery and unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Safari
Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Today, you embark on an unforgettable adventure to the legendary Ngorongoro Crater with Njiro Legacy Safari. Your journey begins early as your guide drives you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to one of the world’s most concentrated wildlife populations. This massive caldera, formed by an ancient volcano, is a true natural wonder.
After a scenic half-hour descent, you’ll stop at the crater lookout point for breathtaking panoramic views. The crater is a haven for elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, cheetahs, zebras, and the rare black rhino. However, due to their long legs and necks, giraffes cannot navigate the steep crater walls. Most animals stay inside the crater, where abundant grazing and prey make life easy.
Midway through your safari, you’ll stop at Lake Magadi for a picnic. Keep an eye out for birds like kites, which may try to snatch your food! You’ll also spot hippos lounging near the water—just be sure to give them space when they come ashore.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its rich biodiversity. Please do not feed any animals, as human food disrupts their natural diet and can be harmful. This rule is strictly enforced by park rangers.
Enjoy your adventure in this stunning, wildlife-rich paradise!
